This course is taught by Professor Su-Ling Yeh, to cover the scientific content of studies on perception and the submitting and reviewing process of a journal article.

Topics include:
1) obtainng and reviewing in detail the instructions to authors from the journals that are likely to submit to;
2) Setting up Endnote to match the journal styles;
2) Strategies for creating the first draft (e.g., inside out);
3) Creating effective paragraphs;
4) Presentation of technical information such as tables and graphs;
5) Audience checks to make sure the readers can understand;
6) Training designed to focus the writer on the four Ws in writing articles(Why was the research done; What was done; What was discovered; Why is it important.);
7) Peer review of classmate’s drafts of their article;
8) How to respond to reviews from journals;
